Goodbyes
Nobody likes to say goodbye. Nobody likes to leave behind their friends and family. But the inevitable fact is that someday, in one way or another, we will have to bid farewell to those whom we love and care about. We will have to go our separate ways, and just hope that fate will bring us back together again.
Being separated from your best friends, or those whom you consider your family, is so painful.
It is like whenever you are not with them, there is something missing in you. There is a gap, a sense of emptiness that fills your heart.
Many times in the past did I have to say goodbye to people whom I love, and it is such a weird feeling, like a thorn piercing through my heart. My eyes will start to well with tears. Others may not see me do so because I try to hide my feelings as best as I could. Then, when I am alone in a corner, there will I burst into tears.
You will not fully realize the true value of a person until you are separated from them. Every day, things would seem normal because you always see them; they are always there so you have nothing to worry about.
But when they are out of the equation, that is when you start to feel their essence. That is when you start to miss them. I sometimes try to humor myself just to hide my melancholy.
It is such a sad thing. Though you might still see them, it is a different thing when you are with them. Relationships start to grow and develop. You become closer to them and so do they become closer to you as well.
It might seem childish to cry about something like that but when you consider someone an integral part of your life, someone who is so significant to the point that you feel that your life is worthless without them, you would think otherwise.
But as I said, goodbyes are inevitable. Just keep in mind that everything happens for a reason. You may not easily accept that fact but in time, you will realize that it is an important part of life. You have to get out of your comfort zone for you to grow, to change into the person who you are supposed to be.
However, never lose hope that someday, your paths will cross. And then, you can be with them again, to laugh with them, to cry with them, to smile with them. And you will realize that you have gained a lot more than you had.
