The Youth is the Hope of the Future
The other night, I was browsing through the internet as I searched for something to inspire me to write a good speech with the theme: "Education, Our Tool for Nation Building". Eventually, I found one.
The discussion was focused around the topic, "How can it be changed by the youth?". This was the initial statement:

"...The youth is said to be the catalyst of change. It is said that the youth is the hope of changing and bringing an ideal system. But how exactly can the youth change the present system when he is surrounded by a corrupt system?
How can he do it when not all can study and get themselves involved in worthy activities? How can he do his advocacy when his freedom are suppressed? How can the youth fight the pain of a corrupt system and maintain his idealism for an ideal system?"
Then Mr. Friedrich Naumann replied:
"Don't be too pessimistic - change has happened in much more difficult circumstances. It does require people with idealism coupled with a sense of common sense and practicality.
Idealism is a personal decision and attitude. If you want to maintain it, you must nurture it. Sometimes it is a matter of changing your perception and focusing on the changes that are happening for the good."
As a youth, we are warriors. We are in the middle of battlefield; a battle of corruption, injustice, and inequality. We must find the right armor and shield to succeed. We must wake up and not live by the dreams, to prove to the world that we can make a difference. It is very true that we are the catalysts of change, and we should be very aggressive in making this dream into reality.
I believe in the power of education and the transforming power of faith in Christ. When we are in school, we are not merely being taught how to read and write. We are being trained and equipped with the right skills and knowledge so that we will be able to make an impact.
We are being trained to think on our own and to have concern not only for the sake of our own future but for the nation. The competition today is already at the global scale and for us to keep up with that, we must be aggressive.
The youth is the force that will drive change into the system of the Philippines. We will be the force that will build the nation.
Each one of us has a predetermined role in life. Accept it. Feel it. Fulfill it. Live it. Let's continue to challenge ourselves and to spur the hunger and desire for learning because it doesn't end after we go out of school. It is a continuous process. Education is life itself. Keep in mind that we are the hope of our future.
