Aiming for God's Best in our Lives

I commend those people who do not settle for less and are not satisfied with a mediocre life.

Although it is good to develop an attitude of contentment and not wanting more material wealth or fame in life, we have to also study what the Bible tells us about God's plans for our lives.

In Jeremiah 29:11, God talks to the people through the prophet saying,

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.'"

These wonderful plans that the Lord God has for our lives may not be of the physical or material kind although God also blesses us in those areas but these plans speak more of spiritual prosperity and depth where God's unlimited potential is manifested and unleashed through our lives.

He wants us to succeed in all areas of our lives and bring glory to His Name but that comes with so much sacrifice as well to the point that we actually deny ourselves to put God first in our lives and follow His will above our own.

We need to even wait patiently for Him as He continues to work in our lives and change our ways and attitudes. He even allows us to face adversity so that He can bring out a certain character or value from us and to equip us for the work He will entrust under our responsibility.

With this, He also blesses us for staying faithful and never compromising our relationship with Him despite the pain and suffering we go through.

But knowing all this and believing that what the Bible tells us is true, we also have to be careful not to rush God because we tend to complain that we want to see breakthroughs, or we want overflowing blessings, or we want to experience abundance in our lives RIGHT NOW but God does not work in haste.

He does not hurry His work instead He patiently carves us out like a seasoned craftsman until He knows we are ready.

So in the process of God unleashing His full potential and power upon our lives, we have to wait on Him and be humble recognizing that all these things happen for God's good purpose and for the glory of His name so that people will know that He is God who is greater than all and wants only the best for His people.

In all things, we have to strive for God's best in our lives but we also have to be content with what He gives us.

We do this because we know that where we are now is still a long way from where God wants us to be and He wants us to be just like Him as it was in the beginning.

He wants us to be like Jesus Christ since He was the perfect example and model for the life worth living on earth, a life that Paul describes as being poured out like a drink offering - a holy sacrifice for God.

We have to trust God that He knows what we can do because it is He who gave us that ability and mission for our lives so that we can live our purpose and give meaning to everything we do.

We always have to look upon God and ask for His guidance and grace that we may be able to accomplish the tasks He has sent us to do. God has the best in store for us because He is a good God. Where we are may not even be half from what glory awaits us from God.

God Bless!
