God is Personal

When we read the four Gospels in the Bible - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John - we get a narration of the life of Jesus as He dwelt among men. He showed miraculous signs to them, taught profound lessons and reproof that came from God the Father.

And ultimately, showered the people with love especially those who needed it the most such as sinners, women, sick people, outcasts, and those who have no other hope in life.

Jesus became the Light for us all when He entered into the world and went to people. Jesus was not like the ordinary king of men but He was the King who approached His people and cared for them.

He stepped down to our place, touched countless lives, healed and restored thousands or more people, and He gave us love, peace, joy, and all things that the world cannot which are those referring to the spirit, that which is deeper than our physical needs and perhaps more of the need for God in our lives.

In this way, I am able to say that God is personal and He cares for our individual needs as shown through the way Jesus interacted with the people of His time.

He never became stagnant in one place because He was always on the move and going from city to city, town to town, village to village, doing the work that the Father has assigned to Him.

By this, we refer to His mission of showing us who He is through the power and authority that God has given Him and that through Him, we might know God more fully.

Jesus also came into the world to be our personal Lord and Savior if we choose to believe in Him. And truly, Jesus would enter our lives if we ask Him and turn our lives for the better.

If we decide to follow Him and lead the path that He Himself modeled for us that of righteousness, then He will come and aid us in every aspect of our lives and by that I mean the whole range of concerns that we have in life.

He will take care of our work, studies, social life, attitude, speech, thought process, deeds, family life, relationships, worship life, security, finances, and the whole enchilada.

Jesus would give us the power of the Holy Spirit and transform us to remove the sinful ways and motivations that we once held so that we can live a life of devotion for God and His righteousness.

This transformation would then transcend the boundaries of the spiritual aspect of our lives and affect even the physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects.

God wants us to live the best life and the fullest life we can ever live. I believe that He works together for the good of those who love Him whom He has called according to His purpose.

The Bible tells us exactly how God has been faithful to many men such as Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Paul and the other disciples, and ultimately Jesus and how God has worked through His Son to do marvelous signs and works.

This week, I hope we remind ourselves of how close God is and can be in our lives if we let Jesus in our hearts.

Remember when Jesus said that the Holy Spirit whom He will send to be our Comforter has the opportunity to be closer to us than He was with the disciples since the Holy Spirit is the One who enters our hearts and from there, changes us and lets us experience the wonders of God like being able to quit an addiction that has a strong hold on you.

God is a personal God and He is not far away from us. God has been accessible to us through Jesus. He is always there but we need to seek Him.

He is not some long-bearded guy sitting above the clouds as many people would imagine Him to be but He is our friend and a father, a leader, a good listener, a great adviser, and an all around loving God who encourages and lifts our chin up when we feel down.

He is all this and more because He is also good and patient and kind. He is all that we ever needed from the beginning.

God Bless!
