A Revolution Of Love!
Two thousand years ago, an extraordinary person walked on the face of the earth. What's so extraordinary about this person is that He changed the world through love and became the living embodiment of love. Everything He did was out of love for those around Him and for the world.
He is love and to this very day, He continues to show His love for those who would receive Him into their lives by making them whole, healing their brokenness, mending their messed up lives and relationships, and giving them a fresh new start.
He started a revolution that shook the whole world to its core and turned it around. The impact of that revolution is still being felt today and many people are becoming part of it. Although the revolution that I am speaking about is not one wrought with violence, hatred, and shedding of blood because that person already took that burden upon Himself.
He took the shame, the pain, and the misery of the world upon His shoulders and He paid the price for it: He was pierced and beaten and battered. He died. He died so that no one else would have to die anymore. He died so that we who believe in Him shall live. But don't worry, as I said, the revolution continues because He is still alive today.
Let us stop making petty dissension against everyone and show them love. Let us stop blaming others or finding faults in them and show them love. Let us march onward and keep the revolution of love.
No more quarreling, no more lying, no more stealing or backstabbing, no more hatred or shedding of blood, let us love the way that He showed us love.
Let us stop thinking of ourselves and our own needs and lend a hand to those who need it, give a hug to those who long for it, encourage those who have fallen countless times and help them get back up. There is no need to bear ill-will against anyone because He has poured out His love for each and everyone.
Instead of going out on the streets, yelling protests and hurling insults against other people, why not spread love? Why not forgive those who have wronged us and show mercy to those who ask for it? Isn't that what love is all about?
That is what the revolution of love is. It is not just for show so that people would think that we are good people but it is a love that goes deep into the hearts. It is genuine and willful. It is not something that we do because we are told to, it is something we do because we want to.
Jesus showed us His love because that was His nature: to love. Now that we know His love and have experienced it personally in our lives, why not share it to others? Why not have that kind of revolution instead of the rallies and demonstrations we see every time we read the newspaper or turn on the television?
Let us love those who are hurting inside. Let us love even those who seem to push us away because they are the ones who are truly in need of someone to care for them and to love them. Let us love those who still feel anger toward others because they need to know that there is a better way of resolving tension among people.
Let us love those who are broken. Let us love those who gave us a hard time and often glared at us or talked about us behind our backs. Let us love them because if we do not show them how much we love them and how much Jesus loves them, how will they ever know and experience love? How will they ever feel loved and express love for others?
We need to love them just as God loves us. God first loved us and that is why we are able to love others because He planted His love in our hearts. It is a fruit that comes from a relationship with Him. So let us share His love and have a revolution of love.
