Stretching Our Faith In God

For the past two weeks, I am grateful and blessed to have been part of a wonderful mission trip with some of the coolest, funniest, and awesome people that I had the pleasure to meet.

Most of all, I thank God for giving me an experience of a lifetime, one that has allowed me to see His mighty work firsthand being fulfilled in the lives of students.

God has been faithful and continues to work in our lives and I just felt humbled and privileged that God had given me this opportunity to share the gospel to different kinds of people and to see them excited and eager to receive Jesus in their lives.

It has been such a spiritual joy ride because I really felt the guidance and protection of the Holy Spirit throughout our journey in the mission field. I saw how God broke barriers and how true it is that God always has the best plan even though our plans may have setbacks, His timing is always perfect.

Wherever God leads us to go, I have learned that He has already been working and preparing the harvest for us and all we need to do is to follow His calling.

I learned that when God calls us to do something or when He gives us an opportunity to share the gospel or to introduce Jesus to people through normal conversations, we just need the heart to obey Him and He will take care of the rest.

I realized that God's plan never fails, one way or another, He will make a way and in following His plan, God promises that He will provide for all our needs even to the very words that we will say to the strangers we meet. He would even send people whom He has already appointed as channels to help us in reaching out to many.

These kinds of experiences are truly extraordinary because we can literally see how God works and moves in the places He sends us to. I can say that the Holy Spirit has allowed me to grow and become more sensitive to God's will and desire for my life.

Moreover, I have seen how powerful prayer really is because when we pray according to God's will and plan, He will answer us in a heartbeat.

I have realized how important our devotional time with God truly is as well because before we start every day on our mission trip, God had a special message to tell us and keeping His words in our hearts, we learned to trust in Him more and to lean on His love and on His Word, the Bible.

During these times, I really became eager to hear from the Lord because what He is going to speak will prove to very useful on the mission field so that we would have guidance from Him and direction from the Holy Spirit so that our hearts would be set on His desire for us and what He wills for us to do.

The Bible truly became spiritual food that gave us hope, strength, and assurance that God is always in control no matter what happens. It gave us encouragement when we thought that our plans have failed because God showed us that He has better plans, in fact, the best plans.

So from my perspective, these experiences and callings that God gives us are ways for us to stretch our faith in Him because it is our obedience and humility toward God that express how much we trust Him.

No matter what obstacles we may face, and I assure there will be, we need to believe that God has already foreseen all of these and that He has made solutions to these problems already.

We have to instill in our hearts that God is greater than any problem this world has to offer. We need to take God at His Word and obey with wholehearted devotion so that we can truly see how God works when we put our faith in Him.

I encourage you that if God calls you to serve Him in a certain ministry or mission, simply say "Yes!" to Him and allow Him to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. There will be surprises, miracles, blessings, new friendships, and spiritual growth coming your way.

You will truly experience God changing you and the touching people's lives through you. All we need to do is humbly accept His calling and obey Him throughout because we can be certain that God will work wonders and that He is working wonders every day.

He can even use you to be a miracle to someone today! So what are you waiting for? Go for God!
