When Your Cup Is Dry

Have you ever had one of those days when you don't feel as excited to pray or to read the Bible? Have you ever felt like the fire in your heart is not as blazing as when you first accepted Jesus Christ into your life? I think that many of us have experienced this happen a few times in our lives.

There are moments when we simply long for a fresh new touch from God to give us an extra boost and we want the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts anew with the desire for His presence bringing joy, peace, and excitement in our lives.

I think it is in these moments when we need to turn more to God and to really seek Him wholeheartedly. I think that when our cup is dry, we need only to spend more time with God and allow Him to fill our cup once again because He can do it and He will when we ask Him and seek Him.

God always has something beautiful for us to experience and enjoy in our everyday lives. As I have said, God is always going to surprise us when we seek and obey Him and when we have fellowship with Him.

God is our source of strength, vitality, and vigor. He brings new meaning to our lives everyday whether we are at work or in school or wherever He leads us. We can experience God working in our lives in each passing moment.

We can live vibrant and exciting lives when we follow where God leads our footsteps to go. Sometimes, even at the coziness of our homes, when we focus and fix our eyes on God, and when we ask Him to meet with us and sincerely desire Him, then God will move in our lives.

As you read the Bible, God may give you a special revelation. God is personal and He knows each one of us intimately and He sees our hearts. Sometimes, God would reveal something amazing to us or He would make us realize something about the verse that we just read.

But we have to keep seeking God and we have to keep our desire for Him burning brightly with passion and devotion. In the stillness of our surroundings, we can hear the voice of God, we can feel Him, and He speaks to our heart and our spirit.

I encourage you that when your cup is dry, lean on God and set aside the other things that you are doing and focus on Him. Spend your most precious time with Him because it is in the quiet moments and in the quiet places where we can meet God.

It is when we shut out the noise of the world and fix our eyes on listening and being attentive to God's voice that we will hear from Him. In the stillness of our heart and mind and soul, that is when God will pour out His Spirit and refresh us.
