I Forgive You
"Forgiveness is the answer to the child's dream of a miracle by which what is broken is made whole again, what is soiled is made clean again."
~Dag Hammarskjold
One of the greatest miracles that all of us have experienced is the miracle of forgiveness.
I have seen many people get hurt by those closest to them yet they still forgive them for the mistakes they have done.
No matter how painful, no matter how humiliating, we still find it in ourselves to forgive those who have wronged us.
A saying goes that to err is human but to forgive is divine. True enough, it is very difficult for someone to forgive. But in time, I believe that they will be able to forgive because it is natural to us.
Our heart is not capable of holding a grudge on someone for such a long period of time. Sooner or later, we will set aside our differences and forgive each other.
Truly, forgiveness has the power to mend broken relationships and to heal broken hearts. It is something for your friend and for yourself as well. It can make things easier.
Sometimes, you just have to let things go; to forget that he hurt you and caused you excruciating pain and agony; and to forget that she started it and things would have been better now if only she hadn't.
Forgiveness is a choice. You can choose to keep it inside, let it fill you up until you are ready to burst or you can choose to let it go, to forget the past and let bygones be bygones.
So I say, in the spirit of Christmas, let us choose to forgive those who have wronged us. Just like what God did for us. He gave Jesus Christ to take away our sins that we may be forgiven and made right with God. So let us spread the joy and the love this Christmas season!
